What landscapes are formed from human traces in the forest?

This project is a visual diary about human intervention in the forest. It’s about control and neglect, and the perseverance of tree-life. It’s about a landscape of not just trees, but also graffiti, fences, marks, cuts and roads.

I set off to a variety of forests in the region of Brandenburg that, together, reflect the current state of the forest. On location, I reflected on, collected and rearranged found material to establish an artwork. I worked on site and solely constructed with the materials available to me. Through creating, I interwove my own perception of the landscape, into the landscape.

The resulting design choices, I‘m furthermore exploring in a human environment, in which I play with the intertwining territories of human and nature from another perspective.
