Is the perception of textiles made of dog wool more determined by the aesthetic-sensual or the cultural perspective, and how can design influence this?

Unlike sheep and goats, dogs are animals with which we form a close bond. Nevertheless, their wool is also a suitable textile raw material. In particular, the undercoat of many breeds can be combed out during regular grooming and spun into a fine yarn just like goat hair. A waste product of loving care and at the same time a useful resource.

The project explores the wide range of different wool qualities that can be obtained from the multitude of dog breeds and the diversity of their coats in structure and colour. As part of the project, visitors are invited not only to explore the materials sensually, but also to connect them in their imagination with the real animal.
