A classic raised bed can only be used from above. An open box, which is filled with soil and plants. This expandable bed, on the other hand, can also be planted and on the sides. Up to eight levels with protruding compartments can be stacked on top of each other, twisted by 90°. Between them there is no ground, so inside there is continuous soil. It should be noted that plants that need a lot of water tend to be planted at the bottom due to moisture distribution.
As a context, a student institution would be obvious, where the raised bed serves as a shared herb garden. Since there might be frequent difficulties with the question, "Who's actually taking care of it?", I also installed a simple clay irrigation system so that the bed doesn't necessarily need to be watered daily.
