New research has shown that the intestine has an enormous influence not only on our general bodily functions and our immune system, but also on our psyche. There is a direct link between the processes at the microbial level and those at the brain level. Without us even suspecting it, the microbiome is heavily involved in our mental states. Nutrition has a much greater influence on us than we think, and we really should pay more attention to our microbiome. Therefore, to establish a more conscious and supportive relationship to it, two concepts were developed. The format of a dinner, the elements of which are specifically designed to promote the psychologically beneficial bacteria. And a ‘home laboratory’ which is used for both the analysis of one’s own microbiome and for the cultivation of personalised strains of bacteria.
